Richard Stillman and Gerald Fierst are THE MYTHMAKERS, who act out as well as narrate stories from around the world, accompanied by authentic musical instruments from each culture. Programs can focus on various themes, including ANTIQUE MUSIC/ ANCIENT TALES, (stories and music from around the world) RENAISSANCE/ MEDIEVAL MONSTERS AND MINSTRESL, JEWISH FOLKTALES WITH KLEZMER MUSIC, TALL TALES/ AMERICAN FOLK MUSIC, and HOLIDAY TALES AND MUSIC AROUND THE WORLD. The show is full of audience participation and climaxes as the whole audience helps in creating an improvised story, which uses the models of the past to create a contemporary myth.

Teens are invited to experience hands-on drumming circle workshops with professional percussionist, Jeff Haynes. Students will gather for 2 workshops to receive instruction on developing rhythmic patterns, playing within a group, and exploring various sounds and tones on the drum.
Then on the third meeting the students will share their learning experience through hands-on drumming with senior citizens in a special interactive performance in the library. Teens will gain an understanding of how they can contribute to the community through the arts. This exchange will not only bridge the generation gap but will also offer the teens and seniors an opportunity to enjoy the freedom of expressing their inner rhythms by “warming their hands” while “warming their hearts.”

Just in time for Halloween, Diane presents an unusual collection of eerie tales and songs. Definitely not for kids, this evening event features a true ghost story Edgecomb collected about the misshapen standing stones of Avebury, England and the eerie force that emanates from them. The performance has a decidedly Celtic slant exploring the Gaelic traditions that influence Halloween including the humorous encounter with the devil that brought about the first Jack O’Lantern

Carol Beaugard & Blue Express - for any time of the year - we perform a variety of songs in the world of bluegrass and country music. It's a wonderful overview of this true American art form that was born in the Appalachian Mountains but derives its roots from a blend of American blues and string music along with a powerful heritage from Ireland and Scotland.
Program includes a narrative explaining the origins of bluegrass and information on the instruments used in the music.

-- Tangram, an ancient Chinese puzzle known also as *the wisdom puzzle* and *7 pieces of cleverness* is a square cut into 7 geometric shapes or tans which can be re-arranged to form other shapes. Aided by various display boards, participants will fit together the 7 magic shapes to form various objects including animals, people and everyday items.
EACH PARTICIPANT will be given a set of tangram to work with during the program.
EACH PARTICIPANT will receive a tangram and illustration sheet to take home.
Tangram is a classic puzzle that appeals to all; the young and old, the serious and carefree. Children, with their natural curiosity and abundant creativity can have fun arranging the 7 tans into an incredible number of objects while developing spatial pattern recognition and coordination skills.

A hungry Wolf tries to outwit the savvy Shepherd and make a meal of the helpless, little Lamb.
Helpless? Maybe not!
Adapted from the Aesop Fable, this popular story is enlivened with a colorful Mexican setting, a humorous communication gap and a surprise ending!
