Kids, bring your family, friends, caregivers, neighbors and head to your local library on foot, bike or car. Once there, Andy The Music Man will offer an age-appropriate, fun- filled, energetic, educational musical program for pre-schoolers through 3rd graders. Ready, Set, Sing! participants will sing, dance, play-act and hear stories in song as they learn about summer activities, nutrition, vocabulary, transportation, animals and much more. Children will be encouraged at the end of the program to hunt for books about the subjects they have sung about. Ready, Set, Sing! is a great combination for your mind and body.

Learn how scientists calculate distance and mass from the wobble of stars and red shift. Learn about how scientists use microwaves and super cooled telescopes to see the farthest reaches of our expanding universe! See the many visual wonders of the universe, as well as familiar stars and galaxies. Lecture focuses on quantum mechanics and advanced math, not suitable for young children. Target audience is 6th - 12th grade and above. Check out CCAT - Prime in Chile, a future project collaboration with multiple universities, The NSF, and NASA! Spiral into the solar system on a glow in the dark path past scalar size planets with their moons, read about their discovery and the elements that they are made of at each planet. Dodge asteroids as you spiral out and learn about constellations and comets too! This program will inspire young and old alike to learn more about what science is doing to explore our solar system. Angora rabbits provide the softest fiber for spinning, and enjoy being groomed to remove their long continuously growing coats. After making their very own drop spindle, patrons get to brush rabbits to collect fiber. Then they can spin the softest yarn for themselves and bring it home. Learn proper rabbit care and maintenance, along with information on how to manage your own angora rabbit farm. Chickens are fascinating to kids, just ask my daughter Vienna as she walks around with one on her shoulder. Bring real live leashed chickens into your library for a fun filled, cluckingly good time! This program features chickens from around the world; Speckled Sussex from England, Blue Andalusians from Spain, Glossy Black Sumatras, Araucana from South America, Cuckoo Maran from France, and others who lay different colors and sizes of eggs. Learn the history and unique characteristics of these breeds, along with basic animal husbandry skills. Children can pet the chickens and depending on the season we bring baby chicks along. In the hilarious tale Plenty of Nuts, young Beatrice just cannot sit still in class. In the end, a lesson from a neighborhood squirrel helps her learn how to concentrate. Fall Fire, based on a Native American myth, tells how a friendly beaver painted the trees with autumn's fiery colors. Celebrate fall and New England with this enchanting seasonal performance. 'Thank You for your performance of ‘Tall Fall Tales’ at the Mansfield Public Library last month. The stories were wonderful, and wonderfully presented, with just the right blend of humor, action, and reverence for nature. The audience was entranced. Folk tales, myths, songs both new and old, and real life stories of people doing wondrous things -- all come to life in the hands of this world-wise yet home-grown children’s performer. If ever there were a performer for our times, Story Laurie is IT!

Filled with humorous and evocative moments as we travel with the greenhorn cabbie as he reconnects with the wild. This piece is complemented with beautiful Native American legends and Diane’s original story The Salmon of Wisdom ~ a true tale of a mysterious and inspiring journey along California's Pacific Coast ~ a story of the beauty and mystery of nature. A one of a kind performance by one of New England’s favorite storytellers.
