Led by Certified Professional Organizer, Lisa Montanaro, this workshop teaches the skills for success in school and beyond.

Description: Weekly drum circle sessions for teen students ages 12-16 years old. Each session would be comprised of 10-15 students. Each participant will be able to pick a drum to play for a 40 minute session. Each session will be broken into two (2) parts: Drumming Instruction Students would receive instruction on developing rhythmic patterns, playing within a group, and exploring the various sounds and tones of the drum. Self Expression through Open Drumming Students will get to drum freely with various genres of music, thus experiencing the pleasure of being inside/a part of the music.

Warm-up for ALL Dance genres with excercises based in Yoga. Participants will learn basic novement that build body-coordination, muscle strenght and balance. With an emphasis on breath, the session reduces stress and helps increase focus. A simple dance routine will be taught to traditional and popular Indian music that rounds out the work-out ending in fun and laughter.

Here's a program Laura did for the City of Chicago library summer reading program, Summer 2012. (at 30 city branches). HEALTY BEATS: A FAMILY MUSIC PROGRAM FOR ACTIVE KIDS AND PARENTS This upbeat interactive concert will have your kids singing and dancing along to Laura's catchy folk-pop tunes that focus on eating healthy and being active. Laura's original songs like "Farmer's Market" and "Vegetable Party" explore fresh foods at your local farmer's market, or the ones you grown in your own backyard! Get movin' and groovin' with Laura's "El Train" and "Hula Hoop" song, and tappin' and clappin' to some traditional favorites. For 13 years Laura taught Wiggleworms, Chicago's largest early-childhood music program, at the Old Town School of Folk Music. She has released two Parent's Choice award-winning children's CDs: "Shining Like a Star" and Kids in the City". After 2 successful decades of performing in Chicago, Laura recently relocated to Westchester, NY (where she grew up). Laura can also do other themed programs (animals, nature, seasons, holidays, etc), or her regular rockin' programs "Songs of the City" and "Shining Like a Star"!

The dancing limberjack toys are always featured for simple and captivating fun. An experienced folk music performer and family literacy teacher, with a specialty in traditional American singing games, Cathy uses guitar, banjo, limberjacks, flute, and penny whistle in her programs which are tailored for specific age groups. “This program is perfect for preschoolers!” said Robin Benoit of Fairport Public Library. (An additional version has been created as a family concert for audiences of all ages).
