This program is held preferably in the beginning of each season and will involve a hands-on field trip into a nearby woodland. Attention will be directed to the various natural changes which are harbingers of each season such as plantlife, animals, weather patterns, some of which are obvious and some of which are subtle.

Our basic show is an overview of reptiles and amphibians; we explain what makes a reptile a reptile, and how different reptiles live in their native ecosystems. We have a variety of animals from all over the globe and from many habitats. Topics include what the animals eat, how they find their food, how they avoid predators, and what related animals can be found in New York (We do have a few native NY animals). Every Reptile Adventure presentation involves allowing audience members to touch and feel the animals. We are also more than happy to allow students to line up for photos. At least one animal, usually a turtle or lizard, will be fed either insect prey or fruit. Snake feeding demonstrations available on request.

Programs available include:

PHENOMENAL PHYSICS by Mr. Fish proves that science can be fun by showing students amazing tricks involving bubbles, balloons, bull whips, eggs and a table stacked with glasses.

THE ANTI-GRAVITY SHOW shows that the law of gravity, “everything that goes up must come down,” changes when things start spinning. Audience learns how to do many circus skills including balancing, rope spinning, magic, and more.

THE MAGIC OF CHEMISTRY is performed by both Mr. Fish and Lisa Lou. Magic tricks and circus skills help explain atoms, molecules, the elements, compounds, solutions, magnetism, and static electricity. The performance can also be presented as a dynamic solo show by Lisa Lou.

THE SCIENCE OF MAGIC uses mirrors, magnets, math, air, optical illusions, and more to explore how to use science to perform common magic tricks.

THE AMAZING ACTIVITY ZONE is an interactive workshop, where various stations are set up for children to browse through. Each station has a science-related circus activity.

SUPER CIRCUS STUFF is a PURELY FUN one or two-person circus show with juggling, balancing, plate-spinning, magic, funny stuff, and lots of audience participation. Fun for the whole family!

Smalley, Carol Parenzan Grow Your Green Esteem Literature- Authors,

You can make a difference. In this workshop, students discover steps their families can take to shrink their carbon footprints. With a degree in environmental engineering, Carol guides students in an engaging conversation about green living. To celebrate their green esteem, each student makes an earth card using paper-engineering (pop-up) techniques. (Shh! It’s math!) Green Esteem is a program based on the trickle up theory. Carol Parenzan Smalley is the author of Tell Your Parents: Green Changes You Can Make Around the Home, fresh off the press in 2009 by Mitchell Lane Publishers, a leader in education publishing. She holds a degree in environmental engineering from Penn State and has written over 20 books. Libraries hosting the program receive a free, signed, personalized copy of the book to add to their collection.
