Program description: Economists tell us the economy moves in boom and bust cycles. Predatory lending, sub-prime mortgages, credit default obligations, and toxic assets all led to the bust of the real estate bubble in 2008. We will examine the actions of a group of JP Morgan bankers who were the originators of the credit default swap which would bring the world financial system to the brink of an economic meltdown. The program features the critically acclaimed PBS Frontline documentary Money, Power and Wall Street.
