Program description: | I will talk about the role theatre fans like myself have played in the theatre community over the centuries. I will share why die-hard theatre fans become repeat attenders and may see a production more than 900 times! In addition, I will inform patrons about the stage door experience which I briefly touched upon at the end of my last program, but was not able to go into detail. I consider stage-dooring to be the icing on the cake after attending a Broadway production. Stage-dooring is when theatre fans rush to the theater's stage door after a performance in hopes of meeting cast members and complimenting them on their performances. Many fans also try to obtain selfies with the stars and have their playbills autographed as keepsakes. In addition to sharing my own knowledge and experiences at many stage doors on Broadway I will include views and experiences from both sides of the barricade. |
