Program description: Where does color come from? In this lecture/presentation, enjoy a journey through time and space learning about the vibrant colors coveted throughout history- and their ‘colorful’ backstories. From indigo and woad to lead and arsenic, discover how these materials transformed into such coveted colors, and the consequences of their use. Pigments and paints safe for human handling, and the tools used to make them, will be available for exhibition and handling. This program may be of interest to both teen and adult audiences.
Space/special requirements: A projector and screen (or other presentation equipment), WiFi, and 2 tables for display items.
Travel restrictions: First 15 miles of travel from Amityville are free- each additional mile, $1 is charged each way (total $2 per extra mile)

Notes about the fee: $250 program fee includes first 15 miles of travel to/from Amityville. Additional miles are $1 each way ($2/mile round trip). Two or more bookings on the same day will only be charged once for travel (eg., a teen and adult program on a Saturday).
