Program description: Asia has a rich history in bookbinding unique from the rest of the world. Learn about the evolution of the book in Asia, including the spread of the art from China to Japan, Korea, and the rest of the world, in this lecture/presentation. Handmade historical replicas and modern interpretations of each bookbinding style will be available for handling, as well as some handmade materials like mulberry paper and special handmade printed papers from different countries in Asia.
Space/special requirements: A projector and screen (or another type of presentation equipment), WiFi, and 2 tables for display items.
Travel restrictions: First 15 miles of travel from Amityville are free- each additional mile, $1 is charged each way (total $2 per extra mile)
