Program description: Ron Cain conjures up your favorite fictional lands with his new magic show, Build a Magical World! The Central New York magician takes young readers on an imaginary trip to places like Wonderland, Neverland, Hogwarts and Oz. Children help him perform tricks inspired by characters and stories from different fantasy worlds. Cain also helps youngsters use these books to come up with ideas for improving their world. Values stressed include kindness, cooperation, hard work and concern for nature. The 45-minute magic show highlights the 2017 New York state summer reading program theme, Build a Better World.
Space/special requirements: Ron brings his own sound system and performance table. He can perform anywhere, as long as there is room for the audience to sit in front of him. He usually needs access to an electrical outlet and may ask to borrow a small table to put extra tricks on.

Notes about the fee: The fee for magic shows at libraries is $250, plus a travel charge. Prices may vary depending on size and type of activity. Discounts are available when a school or library books a magic show and workshop on the same day. A travel discount is given when two or more programs are booked in the same area on the same day.
