Program description: A Musical Journey Through the World of Books! “Singable Stories” is a forty-five minute, interactive concert of children's stories turned into songs by Beth & Scott Bierko. The material used in the program is based upon books of well-known children's folktales, myths and legends from diverse world cultures. Volunteers also locate countries on a 9'x12' world map backdrop. Countries covered include: Ireland, India, China, Switzerland, Russia and Native America. In addition to helping locate the countries, children are asked to participate in the stories. In most of the songs, students are invited to become actors on-stage and in others they sing or clap from their seats.

Other notes: Beth & Scott Bierko are a married couple from Yorktown Heights, New York. They have been Teaching Artists since 1993. They work primarily with preK-6th graders performing assembly programs on topics like nutrition and wellness, literacy and history.
