Program description: This is an interactive presentation for high school students who have loved participating in the performing arts in high school, and who are considering majoring in performing arts studies in college or other arts training programs after high school. In this career-focused presentation, I offer case studies about some performers who have made lifelong careers in the arts, as well as those who have gone on to different career paths, some related, some unrelated to the arts. We look at the emotional, life-cycle and financial rewards and challenges of arts careers, and the transferable skills related to studying the arts throughout a lifetime. I provide a wealth of unbiased resources and information about a range of performing arts training programs, colleges and universities, and careers. It is possible to arrange a multi-day workshop during which I will work with students in small groups and/or individually on developing their college lists and selecting audition material.
