Program description: In this lecture we take a look at the lighter side of 18th century High Baroque art and leave the art world at the dawn of the 19th century. ArtScapades covers Jean-Antoine Watteau, Jean-Honoré Fragonard, François Boucher, William Hogarth, Thomas Gainesborough, and Sir Joshua Reynolds. Approximately ten works per artist are discussed including iconic works plus those that illustrate significant trends and events in their lives and careers. See for full listing of programs.
