Program description: Anthropologist and Photographer Barry Kass will take the audience back in time to the civilization of ancient Rome. Through his beautiful photos and descriptions, we will travel to Sicily to witness the intriguing Roman sites on this island in the Mediterranean, and then on to the Italian mainland to Rome itself, where such famous places as the Colusseum, the Parthenon, and the Roman Forum will be viewed. A highlight of the program will be a visit to the amazingly well preserved Roman ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, buried under volcanic ash after the explosion of Vesuvius in A.D. 79 and still undergoing archaeological exploration today.
