Program description: A traveler who explores the beautiful Aegean coastline of Turkey, known in antiquity as Asia Minor, will find some of the most spectacular ruined cities of the ancient Greeks. Anthropologist and Photographer Barry Kass' photos and descriptions will take the audience to such places as Miletus, Pergamon, and Ephesus, as well as the mystical Temple of Apollo at Didyma. We will also explore the site of ancient Troy, including a replica of the Trojan Horse, described in Homer's Iliad. The international city of Istanbul, known during Byzantine times as Constantinople, will provide us will an incredible variety of photogenic scenes, including views of the city from the Golden Horn of the Bosporus straits, the Haghia Sophia Church, Topkapi Palace, and the Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmet I.
