Program description: The PowerPoint lecture will take the audience to the Andes Mountains of Peru, where we will explore the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the ancient civilization of the Incas. The ruins of the Inca cities of Cusco, Pisac and Ollantaytambo will be illustrated and described, as well as the famous lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Prof. Kass's photos taken while hiking the Inca Trail through the mountains and jungles of the Andes to the fabled city of Machu Picchu will be featured. Prof. Kass will explain the rise of the Incas, their development as a mighty civilization in South America, and their destruction by the Spanish conquistadors under Francisco Pizarro.

Other notes: I have various additional powerpoint presentations prepared beside the one described above, likewise with anthropological-archaeological themes based around my photograph collection from regions I have visited and explored.
