Program description: Presented in costume, learn how the science of Paleontology began. Early fossil hunters were dangerously competitive when trying to find the most dinosaur bones. Are dinosaurs really buried in New York's Central Park? Group activities include assembling a dinosaur bone puzzle, then taking part in a mini-dig to unearth and identify (on field note sheet) your hidden creature. Choose dig options of either dinosaur eggs or figurines. Displaying the library's dinosaur non-fiction books helps with identification.
Space/special requirements: Table to display the tri-fold board and dig trays.
Travel restrictions: Plus $25. travel fee beyond 30-mile radius of Walden. If more than 50 miles one-way, add extra $25. plus NYS Thruway tolls.
