Performers and Programs

Program Information

Program name: DIVERSITY of LIFE
Program category: Nature- Animals
Nature- Other
Program length: 1 hour
Audience level: All ages
Audience size: any
Program description: Wildlife Educators Coalition (WEC) brings a variety of live, exotic animals to your location and demonstrates some of the amazing variety of life found on this planet. We start with a general monologue about diversity and some surprising facts about life forms. We then go to the live animals, beginning with insects to lizards to snakes to tortoises & turtles. In this part, WEC volunteers carry different types of each species around the room so people can get up close and ask questions. Some of the animals can be touched. Volunteers with hand sanitizer follow. From there we go to our higher level animals--a cockatoo and a variety of mammals, culminating with a fun and educational visit from Maggie, our black-handed spider monkey.
Space/special requirements: The animals are kept in their carry crates until they come on stage. They are returned to the crates at the end of their appearance. A staging room or area is helpful, but not necessary. We need enough space - about 10 x 10 to stack the crates. If we can keep them out of site from the audience, the show runs more smoothly.
Travel restrictions: We charge for mileage beyond 35 miles as per mapquest
Program fee: $501- $1000
Is this fee negotiable? Yes
Mileage included? No
If no, cost per mile: $0.50
Notes about the fee: We can negotiate the fee depending on number of animals & volunteers and number of programs scheduled. There is a discount for multiple programs - same day, same location
Other notes: This is charged per vehicle.
