Program description: What's all the buzz about HOUSE CONCERTS? If your curiosity is peaked but you don't know where to begin, join us tonight for our own HOUSE CONCERT in the comfort of our library, featuring the sweet voice and acoustic guitar of singer-songwriter, Glen Roethel. Glen just released his second CD, Smaller Things, so this will be a CD release house concert! Glen's songs have a positive message, and his musicianship has gained him prestigious teaching positions at Summersongs and Wintersongs (summersongs.com, songwriting and performance camps for adults) and at the SoundConnections annual music conference in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2009, Glen was selected over more than 150 big-name applicants as guitarist for the Harmonizing With Humanity house band to perform a two-day music festival a Hohokam Stadium in Arizona to raise awareness and funds for Autism research. Tonight, Glen will play two 30-minute sets with a 20-minute intermission for refreshments. Then, if you have questions, ask Glen how you can host concerts in your home with some of your favorite touring artists! SOLO, DUO, TRIO. GLEN CAN MC FOR OTHER PERFORMERS SELECTED BY GLEN OR LIBRARY, OR HE CAN BOOK ARTISTS FOR YOUR REPEATING LIBRARY HOUSE CONCERT SERIES.
Space/special requirements: Refreshments provided by Library / Host. Small staging area with electricity available. Chairs for audience. Table (card table or similar) for artist's CDs and merchandise.
Travel restrictions:
Program fee: $201- $350
Is this fee negotiable? Yes
Mileage included? Yes
Notes about the fee: I have a sliding scale depending on size of audience, block bookings, travel, etc. I can go below the range stated or above it, depending on logistics.
Other notes: We can add an open-mic to open the show. This is a tried-and-true method of elevating community interest, participation and fun for a concert event. Every town has musicians, young and old, who love a safe opportunity to share, explore and entertain!
