Program description: Cathy McGrath presents intergenerational folk music programs with seasonal themes, such as Christmas, Irish Christmas Traditions, Valentine’s Day, Presidents' Day, St. Patrick’s Day, July Fourth, Halloween and Thanksgiving that put a little spice in your cup of sing-along tea. She calls her music “Teakettle Music” because it is steeped in tradition and shared with friends. An experienced folk music performer and family literacy teacher, with a specialty in traditional American singing games and Irish music, Cathy uses guitar, banjo, limberjacks, flute, and penny whistle, and bodhran drum in her programs which are tailored for specific age groups. She is happy to design a program for your specific needs.
Space/special requirements: A large space is needed to play traditional dancing games. Cathy provides a sound system, if needed. A small table and electrical outlet would be required for the sound.
