Program description: Make Egyptian style jewelry using polymer clay! We will explore hieroglyphs, and various styles of ancient Egyptian jewelry. Students will then be given polymer clay that uses the same colors that dominated Egyptian jewelry (custom mixed clay that simulates lapis lazuli, carnelian, turquiose, obsidian, chyrophase, etc.); texturing in jewelry is also encouraged. Recommended ages 10 to adult, as we will use crafting knives for some of our work. Time permitting, the clay can be baked at your facility**- so then participants can string their jewelry before thay leave.
Space/special requirements: **Area where artist can use a toaster oven while program is in progress. Lining tables with craft paper is recommended.
