| Program description: | Robin Brickman is the award-winning illustrator of several children's picturebooks, based primarily on natural science subjects. Her program has two parts: an initial presentation about her illustrations for books, and then a hands-on workshop. First, she will demonstrate her unique cut-paper technique of watercolor, and then she will help the audience make their own cut paper creatures. Robin will bring an original painting from one of her books for inspiration. Her program has been celebrated for its emphasis on art and natural science, its accessibility to all ages, and Robin's ability to connect with all ages and abilities. |
| Space/special requirements: | My program is most effective as a hands-on workshop. Participants may need a table to work at, as well as these materials: paper, scissors, pencils and coloring supplies. If the program is for children, additional adults will be needed. Robin needs a table for the introductory part of the program. The sale of Robin's books is highly encouraged, and can be arranged. |
