Program category: Nature- Animals
Nature- Other
Program length: 50-60 minutes (customized for adults, children, or families)

Audience size: Any
Program description: Learn about New York State’s official bird, the Eastern Bluebird, from a recognized expert. This highly acclaimed program about nature is educational and enjoyable. Program content and length can be customized for children, adults, or families. The focus is on bluebirds, including the nesting cycle (building nests, egg laying, raising young etc.) and the proper use of bluebird boxes. But, there is more, too. Mr. Rogers opens young and older hearts and minds to bluebirds, other birds, butterflies, wildflowers, and nature appreciation. With visually beautiful photographs, bird sounds, and a sincere, enthusiastic presentation style, this PowerPoint program has been presented throughout NY State. The children's program is especially interactive and engaging, with children being encouraged to share their nature experiences.
Space/special requirements: The presenter has all of his own equipment including a lap top computer and LCD projector.
Travel restrictions: None
Program fee: Up to $100
Is this fee negotiable? Yes
Mileage included? No
If no, cost per mile: $0.45
Notes about the fee: The total cost is very reasonable for this quality program. For longer distances only, a reasonable allowance for some travel costs may be requested. (Reasonable.) (On a personal note, this is truly a labor of love for me. I love making a small difference in people's lives, while at the same time helping to restore the Eastern Bluebird population, too.) Additional information including references can be e-mailed upon request.
Other notes: The presenter has won many awards for his bluebird conservation work, and for educating the public, including the coveted North American Bluebird Society Conservation Award in 1992 in Minneapolis, and the John and Nora Lane Award for Bluebird Conservation in Athens, Georgia in 2007. -Cofounder of the New York State Bluebird Society and a life member of the North American Bluebird Society. BA Biology, SUNY Oswego. -Member of the Onondaga Audubon Society in Syracuse. For other web pages of past programs, please do an internet search with three words: John Rogers bluebirds.
